One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights the room.
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey.
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true,
One life can make a difference,
You see, IT'S UP TO YOU..
Last night I went to a musical that was staring some of my friends . This reflection was read out at the end of the musical and I felt it was important to share it . The message of the musical was that faith will carry you to places you weren't expecting but you will find that the unexpected things are the things that help shape you into something beautiful !
So I think this reflection is so beautiful - we are all just one person on this planet but one can start so much - be it a sunbeam , a word, a voice or you ! We are all meant for something wonderful on this earth, although it might take a while to find what that something is ! You have been shaped and molded by God~ you are his masterpiece....you are fearfully and wonderfully made .
The Will Of God will never take you where the Grace Of God will not protect you .

18 ....!
Today the 20th of March 2012 marks the day I turned 18........
This was the message on one of the Birthday cards I received which I really liked. Birthdays will come and go but its the memories you make in the year that are special and important . I plan to make the memories of my 19th year on this earth ( yes 19th , I've made it to 18 therefore I am in my 19th year) the most memorable yet! With friends, family and the people I love ~ I will try my utmost to make this year a great year, for me and the people around me , to spread joy and happiness , but still remembering to be me :) !
Eighteen is a special year
an important age to be
be sure to make the most
of every opportunity
You'll have to make decisions
and big choices on life's way
but hopes and dreams can all come true
starting from today
Of all the days to celebrate
it's hoped this one is the best
a very special day
that is better than the rest
Enjoy your eighteenth birthday
with friends and loved ones near
may it bring you happiness
that lasts throughout the year .

"Friendship is one of those things that give value to survival"
"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather is one of those things that give value to survival."
- C. S. Lewis
When I first read this quote all so long ago I had to pause after the first 3 words " Friendship is unnecessary..." I guess I was kinda curious as to where the great C.S.Lewis was going with this one, but of course he never fails to convey the sentiment of that amazing feeling that is friendship.
I seem to talk about friendship a lot on this blog , which kinda makes perfect sense to me because it is such an important part of my life- because I am completely, utterly ,divinely blessed to have such amazing friends. Words cannot describe how much I believe this , how much I know this.
Friendship has always been a thing that is very important to me , if we are friends then you can be assured that you mean a great deal to me. My friends are the people who see my personality at its best, and at times at its worst , but they never give up on me , and that - that is what true friendship is , never giving up on the people you love !
I am swiftly approaching my 18th Birthday - something I have been rather reluctant to accept ! 18 seem all too adulty , all too grown up for me to graps....so I am not going to , I will always be a child at heart whether I am 18 or 80 so I will simply continue to be myself, its all good. But unlike the "norm" celebrations of a lot of teenagers my age I am choosing not to go out to a pub or night club for my birthday . This is due to the simple fact that it is not me , it just goes against my personality. You see, I am a teetotaler so I don't drink ,so as you can imagine the last thing I want to do to celebrate my 18th is watch others get rather intoxicated in front of me ( not how I want to remember it ) .
So today instead of giving into the stereotypes I decided to have 2 fantastic friends over for tea , cookies, scones , pizza and Pride and prejudice . It was so much fun , we talked, we laughed , we drank our weight in tea - it was just perfect for me I couldn't think of a better night. I love them so much , they really do mean the world to me . They bring the brightest light into my life and I love them for it . I have been adopted into their family as an extra sister . Every moment I spend with Hannah Naomi, Jemima and Emily makes me feel so fantastic - I love them .
When one speaks of friends in a broader sense of the words they may count the number of "friends" they have on facebook , or the people that you casually say "hey" to in the hallway at school. Of course these friends are vital to life, for me every friend is important in their own individual way . But there are always the ones you call your best friends ....the ones who always seem to be there for you, the ones who can make you laugh and smile when you feel like curling up under the duvet . The ones who inspire you....like the ones who are inspiring me to write this blog right now. I have my 4 sisters above , my friends who I have know most of my life and cant imagine my life without. Then I have music friends, school friends etc! I have amazing friends- they are always there to help me no matter what, be it school work, music or just to talk. I love they all to bit .So as you can see , I am truly blessed !! All these people make me laugh , smile and be happy. I am truly blessed to know such fantastic , stunning people.
So friendship is a prominent thing in my life - Something I am so unbelievably thankful for ~ because without that friendship I would not be the person I am today . I would not be the person sitting here writing this blog."Friendship is one of those things that give value to survival"
If you are my friend , and you are somehow reading this blog- thank you for being amazing and thank you for bringing sunshine into my life .

The rhythm of my mind
Today began as most of my days do . The usual get up, get dressed, go to school sort of days. But today marked the day I finished my written mock exams so I was rather excited to finally have them finished. The mocks are a practice run for my real exams in June, but never the less they are still exams and still caused a certain bit of anxiety and stress on my part. So it is easy to understand that after my 11th exam today I felt rather relieved .
I'm not exactly sure what my objective was when I began writing this blog ... I just wanted to write. Sometimes in life one does not need an objective . So go , do what makes you happy , things that make you smile - because you can .
I came home after my exam to relax , take a breather and pretty much do nothing - which I did for a while and it felt great !! Then I noticed that my dear friend had posted a new blog ,which always makes me happy . This blog was fantastic and made me think , about life - about how people sin and make mistakes but God forgives - Jesus always forgive you because he loves you ! You are always loved .
After reading this I decided to go for a walk , to visit my grandmother and also to think ... I find the walk from my house to my nanas short , but it is perfect for reflection for those little moments of contemplation . I have always been the person who walks along looking at the ground , or in this case looking at my feet - red converses ( my signature shoe) . I like to watch the road I travel on, the little pot holes I jump over and dodge. The wind sweeps through my hair and the smell of my perfume wafts in the air . It is such a simple thing but it made me smile .
On the way to my grandmother I pass a river - a fantastic little river . I stood on the bridge watching the water ripple beneath me and listening to the music of Jenny and Tyler which for me was so apt for this moment . The song Psalm 46 "The LORD is my refuge and strength Therefore I will not be afraid" so beautiful and so meaningful.
My grandmothers house is my favorite place on this planet - there is something about it that makes me feel so safe . The smell of cinnamon or freshly baked bread or scones . Tulips on the table, pictures of everyone everywhere . Tea with my grandmother- pure and utter bliss .
I'm not exactly sure what my objective was when I began writing this blog ... I just wanted to write. Sometimes in life one does not need an objective . So go , do what makes you happy , things that make you smile - because you can .
